These plants display a hepatoprotective and antioxidant activity at the same time. Studies show that Eclipta prostrata protected rats from hepatic damage. It was administered for 15 days, and after that time, the hepatic enzymes returned to normal.
We don’t have extensive studies in humans yet, but there is anecdotal evidence that it works. In other words, experience is telling us that it is safe and effective. More studies are required to establish this herb as a standard treatment, but it is a promising ally so far.
