This is not the most common symptom of hepatic disease, and it is definitely not one of those early signs of liver damage. Instead, it is a late sign and often shows up in patients with cirrhosis and other types of advanced liver disease. Doctors call this sign palmar erythema. It is a reddening of both palms, more pronounced in the lower part, near the heel. In some cases, patients may also experience reddening of the soles of the feet.
