Protein sources, such as;
- Cereals, legumes, lentils,
- Meat
- Dairy
Fat sources, such as;
- Saturated and unsaturated fats and oils

Each group of food gives nutrients to the body.
Carbohydrates provide the energy required to perform daily functions. The body needs proteins for optimum growth and maintenance. Fats are important for temperature regulation, insulation, cushioning, and required for vitamin absorption.
They are also required as a secondary source of energy in the absence of carbohydrates. Vitamins and minerals play a major role in the maintenance of teeth, bone, muscle, skin health.
To stay healthy and lose weight, limit the unhealthy carbohydrates (20–50 grams per day), which you get from the sugar and cereal food groups.
