A person who has a heart attack will sometimes stop breathing. In this case, immediate chest compression should be made with cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR. This process involves the following:

After a heart attack, most patients will need several types of medication or care. Such interventions are intended to prevent potential heart attacks. These may include the following:
